If not, you may want to identify the reasons why. One of the reasons may be that you are not doing enough to identify where the strongest market demand is. That's the reason why we are discussing "Keyword Research" today.
You should do market research to identify an internet "niche" (a specific interest group) and then dominate the niche. This is a lot easier than competing with many other internet marketers around the world on a general area.
You should begin your research on "long tail keywords" (three or four word phrases that have a few people searching for them everyday, but with only a few websites competing for them instead of thousands or even millions of websites competing for them). You must also understand that since less people are doing searches using these long tail keywords, it is important that you build a lists of long tail keyword search phrases (at least 30 phrases).
A tool that you can use to build your database of long tail keywords is Google AdWords.
After you build your database, confirm that these keywords can really apply to your product. Now, you can start to include all your long tail keywords in your marketing articles, videos, etc.

Lesson 13 - Marketing Techniques 1 (Article Marketing Part 3)

Have you used all the 3 techniques (namely writing articles, participating in Yahoo Answers and creating Youtube videos) shared? If yes, have you started earning $$$ in your ClickBank? If you did, well done! Congratulations to you!
If not, do not be disappointed. There must be something that you can improve on. Ask yourself the following questions:
1. Am I using the 3 techniques to promote just 1 product? If not, you may not be focusing on the product well in order to market it effectively.
2. For writing articles, how many articles have you written? My trainer, Ewen Chia, has contributed more than 40 articles (with the same website link on these 40 over articles) just to talk about 1 product. So, don't be disappointed if your articles do not generate sales for you yet.
3. Are you using the best link in your article? Are you using the link to your squeeze page or to your affiliate link that goes directly to the merchant page? People may not be willing to pay immediately after reading your article. It may be better to use your squeeze page (will share more about constructing a squeeze page in later lessons) link instead. You can then capture their email addresses and email them to pre-sell more content every few days to increase the buying rate.
4. For Yahoo answers, did you give very good answers? Did you indicate a reference page for them to go, such as your ezine article?
5. Youtube video - did you also indicate your website link? Is your call for action strong?
Take time to improve on your techniques. Find out whether there are similar articles around and use them as reference to improve your contents and writing skills.

You can also use Youtube to market your affiliate products. One of the easiest way to create a YouTube video is to do the following:
1. Create a powerpoint slide presentation for the products that you want to promote (You can use contents with reference to the article which you have written)
2. Download Camtasia Studio (a screen recording and video editing software) from http://www.techsmith.com/ (You have a 30-days trial period)
3. Follow the tutorial on the Camtasia Studio Learning Center site to learn how to convert the powerpoint presentation to a video (It's pretty simple)
4. Sign up for a free YouTube account
5. Upload your video on YouTube. That's all!
The most important thing is to learn from PowerPoint Help and Camtasia Studio Learning Center.

You can make full use of your time to develop your affiliate marketing business. I will share with you what I do when I am watching TV. I will go to Yahoo Answers and answer questions that are relevant to the product that I am promoting as an affiliate marketer. In this way, I am creating awareness for my product at the same time.
Once you are in Yahoo Answers page, you can search for the questions that you would like to answer by categories or by keying the relevant keywords in the Search box. The questions are normally open for a short period of time (normally 4 days). The answer that you provided will be there in Yahoo Answers from then on.
This technique is something very simple, thus you can do something meaningful for your business when you are watching tv.
Important: Please read the community guidelines very carefully to prevent termination of your Yahoo Account., for example, you should not indicate your affiliate links there.

Lesson 9 - Business Management Tools (Part 1)

I am not sure whether you have this problem...........
I find that I have an increasing number of IDs and passwords to remember after I started my affiliate marketing business. A lot of time is spent on looking for passwords, remembering IDs, etc.
As such, I recommend that all of you develop a very simple tool to manage your business and help you save time in locating your IDs and passwords. It is really very simple, just open up an Excel spreadsheet and create the below fields to help you manage your database of IDs and passwords:
- Service Providers
- Log-in Website
- ID
- Passwords (I recommend that you use common secret codes to represent your passwords so that when people get access to your file, they still cannot access your passwords. For me, I try to use the same passwords for as many applications as possible. For example, if my password is "chocolate99", I will use the code "food99" as I know for myself that "food" means my favourite food "chocolate".)
- Purpose
- Comments
You can just add on to the list as and when you sign on for a new service or application. You can use the "Find" function in Excel to help you locate the ID and password of any service provider very effectively, thus helping you to save time.

For those who are still trying to write an article, I am sharing some useful tips below to help you write your articles more efficiently.
I mentioned about referring to sample articles in Lesson 6. You can also get a lot of useful information by going to the relevant forums. Some members in the forums even provide a lot of very useful information in point form which can provide you with some good ideas of what to write for your articles.
You can also google for information. For example, you can make use of some of the information in wikipedia if you need to define the terms you use in your articles. Therefore, you can make use of them and easily expand them into an article for yourself.
That's what I did for a number of my articles and I managed to complete them in less than 30 minutes.
Just do your spell check and grammar check before you finish and your article is good to be submitted to the articles directories.

Lesson 7 - Do You Feel This Way?

Up till this lesson, how many of you here feel that there are too much to learn?
I also felt pretty much the same when I get started and not only that I also felt a little tired having to read and watch videos, with the need to use my brain at the same time. Normally, when I watch tv, I just relax and don't have to use my brain, but with affiliate marketing, I have to think or take action simultaneously when I watch the training videos.
Sometimes, I really feel like going to watch tv (one of my favourite hobbies) instead. However, I will ask myself "Do I love money or tv more?". The answer is normally "Money".
I will also convince myself that if my trainer, Ewen Chia, can work on affiliate marketing for 5 years on a part-time basis, why can't I? Furthermore, he started from scratch with nothing and also invested lots of money trying out different training materials. For me, besides the training materials I've got from my training workshop, I've got myself a set of useful step-by-step training videos and training materials prepared by him (one of the best affiliate marketing trainers in the world) from http://bit.ly/gAcd2z at only $27. I should therefore be considered more fortunate and if I worked hard enough the RIGHT way, I believe I will start earning more and more passive income very soon.
Furthermore, this is the kind of business that can give me an income even if I am sick and cannot get up to work, as well as even support my medical bills without me worrying if the foundation built is STRONG.
So, whenever I feel like giving up, I will ask myself "You want money without working in future?" The answer is always a big "YES", so I will continue again. "Speed" is not so important in this business. The internet market is always open and growing. What is more important is the "Determination to LEARN & CONTINUE".
One useful tip: If you own 2 pcs like me, play the training video on one of them, and follow the instructions on another pc. I find it more efficient and also more encouraging when I can apply what I have learn from the videos immediately.

Now that you have got your product to market, it's time to learn how to market it. The first method that I am going to share is called "Article Marketing". This means that you are going to promote your product in the article which you are going to write yourself.
One of the easiest ways to do it is to refer to sample articles. You can easily search for an article that is related to your product at http://ezinearticles.com/. Learn to write your article, don't worry too much about grammar and spelling. Just use your spell check when you finished your article.
Once you are done, sign up for a free account at http://ezinearticles.com/ and submit your article. Isn't this simple?
You can submit your article at more directories, such as http://www.articlesbase.com/, http://www.articledashboard.com/, etc.
Note:
The purpose of writing your article is to promote your product. Therefore, you should put a website link in your article to bring potential customers to view your product.

Lesson 5 - Managing Your Finance for Your Internet Business

You may already be thinking to yourself "I haven't started earning yet, but I have to invest..........". Yes, all business needs some investment and this investment is very insignificant compared to an investment in a physical business where you have to invest in rental, employees' salaries, electricity, etc.
I will share with you about the opportunity cost concept. Every $ has an opportunity cost, what this means is that for every $ you spend on item A, you may be giving up item B.
- For example, for every small amount of money that you spend on a gourmet food item (such as coffee, chocolates, cakes, etc), you are giving up purchasing your shop name because you can even purchase a domain at a price of about USD2.
- For every bill that you pay at a fancy restaurant, you may be giving up your shop space because you may have been able to already purchase a hosting package.
- For those of you who are intending to invest a lot in purchasing a luxury item using your hard-earned money, think twice. You may be giving up a business that can earn you unlimited passive income (an income that can help you achieve FINANCIAL FREEDOM), even when you are sleeping.
I am not saying that you should not purchase luxury items or spend to enjoy yourself. If you are doing it once in a while, that's pretty ok. However, think of how great the feeling is if you actually manage to purchase luxury items using your passive income instead of your hard-earned income.
I don't feel the pain in spending more on my internet business now, because I have already started earning income online (income that I earned even when I am sleeping or watching tv). I use the income that I earned online to buy more things that I need to develop my internet business, so that I can be in a better position to earn more for a better future.
After I say all these, please don't start spending a lot in your internet business. You can get started with a domain (shop name) and hosting account (shop space) and maybe a training program with useful videos, if you do not already have one. You can also try to get free hosting from some sites, but I am not sure about the support that you can get.
Tracking Your Income & Expenses
Start to budget, use an Excel worksheet to keep track of all the expenses that you spend. Remember you are running a business and budgeting is a must. Your Excel worksheet can include fields like:
1. Date - eg. today's date
2. Name of seller - e.g. GoDaddy or Hostgator
3. Description of item purchased - e.g. domain name or hosting package
4. Amount spent - e.g. $X
5. Project name/cost centre - e.g. "Fitness Project" in the case of domain name purchase; "All" in the case of hosting package as the hosting package can be used for all projects
6. Income - e.g. Income from Clickbank (Project A). This is the field I like best. I record this field in negative sign using a different colour, so that when I add up all the amounts, I can determine whether I have already recover my costs.

Lesson 4 - Develop A Simple Plan for Your Online Business

After you have decided on the product which you would like to promote, plan for your business. Planning doesn't require a few days, weeks or months, simple planning will do. Don't worry if you do not know how to plan, I will give you some simple advice below.
The reason why I ask you to plan is that planning is really very important, just remember this:
With the product you have selected, just ask yourself "Is this the market that you would like to develop a business"? For example, if you have selected a "diet formula" to promote, do you really like the "beauty and fitness" market? If yes, that's very good because you are promoting something that you have a passion in.
Furthermore, remember that internet business is just like a normal business. You will have the following:
- A shop name
In this case your domain name - get a domain name that is relevant to your product. In addition, take this into consideration "is your domain name going to attract only buyers of the diet formula or buyers of any product in the beauty and fitness market?"
You can google for advice on choosing a domain name or invest in a training video to help you save time. The "24 Hour Internet Business" training program which I mentioned in Lesson 1 includes this video.
- A shop space
After you have a shop name, you need to have a shop space to operate your business. In this case, your hosting account can help you get a shop space in the internet. The main reason why I suggested the Hostgator's baby plan is that you can host unlimited domains, i.e. you can set up unlimited shops selling different products in the internet. Remember to search for your most attractive discount code, you can also make use the discount code I mentioned in Lesson 2.
The best thing about this shop space is that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and best of all open to everybody around the world as long as they have access to the internet. Isn't this wonderful?

Lesson 3 - Yahoo Answers and Forums (Simple Market Research)

Today, we are going to do something very simple.
After choosing your preferred product to promote in ClickBank based on your interests, go to
(1) Yahoo Answers! site
Search for the questions asked under the relevant categories based on the product you have selected to promote. See whether you can help to solve people's problems.
Don't have to spend too much time answering people's questions now. Your main purpose of this site visit is to help determine whether the product you intend to promote can help to solve people's needs. If you find that your product can help to solve a lot of people's problems, at least it's worth investing the time in promoting your product.
*I suggest that you read the Community Guidelines of Yahoo! Answers very carefully as your Yahoo! account may get terminated if you violate their guidelines. If you are not sure what to post and what not to post, you may wish to create a new Yahoo! ID for this purpose.
(2) Forums
Look for the forums which are related to the product you have chosen to promote. You can goggle for "forum directories" to get a listing of the available forums in the internet.One example of such a site is http://directory.big-boards.com/.
Go to the relevant forums and determine whether you have a market for your selected product.

Lesson 2 - Setting Up Domain, Hosting and Basic Forwarding of Merchant's Page

(1) Setting up your domain account
I have bought domains from both namecheap.com and godaddy.com.
I suggest using domains from godaddy if you would like to mask your domains as godaddy provides this Masking Your Domain feature (domains from namecheap.com do not come with this feature).
You can goggle for "discount coupon codes in godaddy" to get discount codes. The most attractive deal I have found so far is a deal which offers 35% off domains (i.e. I paid $7.67 for one ".com" domain, I actually purchased for a 2-year period to capture the low pricing). You can click on the icon directly if you would like to grab this same deal.
You can also visit namecheap.com by clicking on the below banner to compare the prices of the domains you would like to purchase.
(2) Setting up Your Hosting Account
For me, I bought the baby plan under hostgator as it's the recommended plan since it can host unlimited domains. You can compare the plans here at http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml.

Another thing I like about Hostgator is that they have a very good "Live Chat" support system. They helped me solve my problems almost immediately. Just click on the "Live Chat" icon at the top right hand corner of their home page if you need their help.
One other thing to note, please use "Firefox" as your browser, it can help you prevent issues that even Hostgator cannot resolve. That was what happened to me. My problems were automatically resolved when I changed from "Internet Explorer" to "Firefox".

First you need to understand what is the purpose of doing this. This is also known as "Masking Your Domain".
What is "Masking Your Domain"?
"Masking Your Domain" is also known as "link cloaking". People by nature generally don’t like to be sold and will trust you less (in the same way people don’t trust sales persons) and are less likely to buy when they suspect that you earn a commission for recommending a product. Using an uncloaked affiliate link, can decreases conversion rates and that means less sales and less money for your efforts.
Therefore, it is useful to mask your long affiliate link with a domain that you purchased, such as http://www.xyz.com/. For detailed instructions on how to mask your affiliate link using Godaddy, go to youtube and search for videos using "Domain Name Forwarding and Masking in Godaddy". Summary - What I did:
(a) Find a product that I want to promote in clickbank. Register as an affiliate and obtain the long affiliate link.
(b) Go to my godaddy account and forward and mask my link following the instructions per the youtube video.
Yes, I have my new affiliate link page under my own domain name now!

I suggest using domains from godaddy if you would like to mask your domains as godaddy provides this Masking Your Domain feature (domains from namecheap.com do not come with this feature).

Welcome to Internet Biz Tutor!
Hi all,
My name is Sylvia. I have started learning about the internet business - affiliate marketing last month on 19 Feb 2011. I am very excited to share that I have earned more than USD300 in less than a month (today is 17 March 2011) by investing not more than 1 week in the internet biz.
As such, I believe I will definitely be able to earn much more when I am better equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills, as well as by investing more time in this area. I will be going for a 2-day seminar this weekend to learn more about affiliate marketing. Will share more when I finish my course. Anyway, below are some basics that I can share with you to get yourself started. This guide is also serves as a revision for myself.

Attend the "Internet Business Live! Seminar" by Ewen Chia and Patric Chan. I spent USD67 and 2 full days to attend it at Novotel Clark Quay, Singapore. You can get hold of the video shortly. Will provide the link to you.
Step2:
Register for an ID at http://www.clickbank.com/. Search for some products that you would like to promote for vendors to start earning affiliate income. For example, if you are interested in dog training, search for ebooks or videos that relate to dog training. Register yourself as an affiliate and you will be given an affiliate link. When consumers click on your affiliate link to go to the vendor's sales page and purchase the product, you will be able to earn for yourself a sales commission!
Step3:
Start to strategise on how you would want to promote the product which you have chosen. For example, you can consider doing the following:
(1) Set up a website and link it to the product's sales page which you want to promote
(2) Set up a blog to provide information in the area which you have chosen
(3) Write articles related to the product you have chosen and insert your affiliate link
(4) Set up a squeeze page to collect email address of people who are interested in the topic you have chosen and then email them on a periodic basis with relevant information as well as about some information about the products which you are promoting
(5) Participate in relevant forums to discuss and promote your vendor's product to create awareness
